| Description | Black cylindrical bowl with incised and punctate decoration creating a textured surface. The decoration consists of two incised serpents facing one another, their bodies undulating and divided into sections. The decorative panel is framed by two horizontal polished bands, one beneath the rim and another encircling the base. Traces of hematite remain on the surface. Neutron activation analysis of the ceramic paste indicates a probable origin in the Department of Santa Rosa, in southeastern Guatemala. |
