- Description
Teotihuacan-style incense burner, with lid. The cover has a niche surrounded by “three mountain” symbols and cut-shell designs in all the upper edge, topped with an owl’s face with grooved bands simulating feathers.
Inside the niche is a figure with palms extended forward, displaying symbols interpreted as “waterfalls of abundance” (triangular elements simulating fruits, seeds, or riches). The figure wears a headdress with an owl’s face, discs, and “three mountain” symbols on each side.
The lower frame is composed of a scroll with elements related to water. On the sides are two figures dressed in headdresses with shells and conch shells, a banded necklace, a belt, and a cape.
The back of the lid features a rectangular frame covering the chimney. The base is biconical with a bow-shaped ornament in the front.
