Description

Polychrome plate decorated in shades of orange, red, and black. The vessel features a flaring curved wall, ring base, and a medial rim. One end includes a spout with a central groove, likely designed for controlled pouring of liquids.

Around the midsection of the body, a decorative band displays stepped pyramid motifs in black and red. At the bottom of the vessel, a male figure is depicted in right profile, adorned with a headdress, round earspools, a jaguar pelt-patterned hip cloth, and sandals. He holds an artifact in his right hand, whose function remains open to interpretation.

The combination of architectural and figurative elements suggests a visual narrative that may be linked to scenes of authority, ritual, or courtly life.
