- Description
Polychrome bowl with straight, slightly divergent walls and a flat base. The surface is finished with a cream slip. The decoration consists of a red band applied above and below the rim on the interior. On the exterior wall, a horizontal decorative band stands out, composed of alternating series of two black squares and two red squares arranged in an interlocking sequence. The remaining surface of the vessel features two stylized lizard heads shown in left profile, positioned on opposite sides of the bowl. Both motifs are painted in red over the cream background.
Neutron Activation Analysis of the ceramic paste suggests that the vessel was likely manufactured in Tikal, Petén.
