La Ruta Maya Foundation is participating in the temporary exhibition “Syncretism: The Encounter of Two Worlds and Their Beliefs. Las Verapaces” with four Pre-Columbian artifacts that are part of its collection under custodianship. These works are integrated into a curatorial journey that explores the history, art, and traditions that emerged from the encounter of diverse cultures and worldviews.
Through this exhibition, visitors will discover how syncretism has shaped beliefs, celebrations, and cultural expressions that continue to endure to this day.
The exhibition, organized by the Patronato de Santo Domingo and curated by Martín Fernández-Ordóñez, is open to the public at the Upper Choir of the Basilica of Santo Domingo (12th Avenue and 10th Street, Zone 1, Guatemala City) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from March 20 to June 28, 2026.
